The weekly TV series that followed the first two miniseries showed the evil visitors making a dramatic comeback on Earth, reigniting the war; they were only hiding behind the moon.

Still entertaining, Kenneth Johnson’s original political intentions were nevertheless gone and the weekly series was poorly written, often illogical, science fiction with cheap twists that gave the impression of having been conceived by somebody who’d have preferred working on Dynasty.

There weren’t enough viewers to warrant a real future for this highly expensive show; cancellation came unexpectedly though, so there’s no real conclusion.
