When Lily Cotton (Kaitlyn Dever) tells her divorced parents (George Clooney, Julia Roberts) that she’s getting married in Bali, they make peace (for now) in order to stop the wedding.

Roberts has been down this road before, in My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997), but that movie was funnier and sharper. This one has the benefit of two solid stars in the lead and tropical locations that are expertly used throughout the film.

It does suffer from several ineffective slapstick scenes and a humdrum formula.
