THEY ARE WATCHING.

Mina (Dakota Fanning) finds herself deep in an Irish forest where she joins three people who spend a lot of time in a bunker, hiding from mysterious creatures.

Predictably, the discourse surrounding this horror movie, the directing debut of M. Night Shyamalan’s daughter Ishana, came to revolve around nepotism. The only relevant question, though: is the film effective?

The director works in the tradition of her father, crafting a well-paced, atmospheric thriller… but the concept is contrived and the final twist feels inevitable.
