When the kingdom of Rohan is attacked by a vengeful young man and his Dunlendings army, it is up to a princess to defend what’s left of it during a wintry siege.

An anime prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy focusing and expanding on characters and events briefly mentioned in J.R.R. Tolkien’s works.

Mostly for die-hard fans of the author, the film has beautifully animated surroundings and a majestic score, but the characters are formulaic and the whole project feels superfluous.
