CREATE SOMETHING TO FEAR.

In 1971, American novitiate Margaret Daino (Nell Tiger Free) arrives in Rome to work at an orphanage, but Father Brennan (Ralph Ineson) warns her not to trust anyone there.

This prequel to The Omen (1976) cooks up a new story behind the birth of the Antichrist, but the original was far more terrifying; its deaths are more or less recreated in this film, but they lack a similarly shocking impact.

Both films do share an eerie cold look, and there are a few interesting, offbeat ideas near the end, but nothing genuinely fresh or effective. OK cast though.
