After rebooting the Halloween franchise, David Gordon Green and Danny McBride set their sights on another storied series. A new case is presented, but the star of the original is also brought back.

Unfortunately, Burstyn’s character gets a mean-spirited, undignified treatment in a film that is alarmingly short on scares and fresh ideas.
