A Danish family goes to The Netherlands to stay with a couple and their son they met while vacationing in Tuscany, slowly realizing that they have no idea who these people really are.
There’s a satirical edge in this horror movie, testing how far we’re willing to let things spiral out of hand before we stop being polite and say enough.
The writers are having fun with a very familiar fear; in this case, there’s utter, shocking darkness behind the surface, and that’s where it all leads up to (perhaps a little too slowly). Very good cast.
