When someone wearing a Ghostface costume attacks and almost kills her younger sister, Samantha Carpenter (Melissa Barrera) returns to Woodsboro; soon, veterans from previous battles with the killer also find reason to show up.
The fifth film in the franchise is a so-called ”legacyquel”, one that pays respect to the original and brings back ”legacy characters”. Fun most of the time… but the barrage of references to itself, predecessors and other horror movies is a sign of poverty.
Staying so close to the first Scream guarantees no shocks or surprises for the audience.
