No Other Land

A documentary that shows the Israeli military and settlers at their worst. Taking place over several years, the film documents clashes over Masafer Yatta, a region in the occupied West Bank where Palestinian homes are razed to make way for a military firing zone.

Palestinian activist Basel Adra and Israeli journalist Yuval Abraham are working together, letting their emotions and experiences become part of the film, an effective symbol of the differences between their stations in life; the latter’s privilege becomes obvious at times, but they carry on, determined to see this through.

Interesting; much in the film is chaotic and exhausting, with repetitive outbursts of aggression and violence… but that’s the conflict in a nutshell.

2024-Palestine-Norway. 95 min. Color. Written, directed and edited by Basel Adra, Yuval Abraham, Hamdan Ballal, Rachel Szor. Cinematography: Rachel Szor.

Oscar: Best Documentary Feature. European Film Awards: Best Documentary.
