Thirty years after the capture of a serial killer, the daughter (Fanny Leander-Bornedal) of a student (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) who helped expose him follows in her father’s footsteps as the new nightwatchman at the forensic institute.

Parts of the same cast and crew returned for this sequel, which also adds a new generation, represented by the director’s daughter. The first film had its credibility issues and it gets worse here; attempts to tie a new story to the original killer are contrived and there are few thrills.
