My Spy: The Eternal City

ROME ISN’T READY.

When J.J. (Dave Bautista) accompanies Sophie (Chloe Coleman) and her choir to Rome on a school trip, they become involved in a terrorist plot.

This sequel introduces us to a now teenaged Sophie who’s training to become an agent herself, while also dealing with confusing emotions; so is J.J., who’s become quite the father figure.

Bigger than the first film, this overlong adventure has lots of action and cute moments for a young audience, but suffers from a boring story. The usually cheerfully silly Flula Borg is wasted as a villain.

2024-U.S. VOD. 112 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Peter Segal. Cast: Dave Bautista (J.J.), Chloe Coleman (Sophie), Kristen Schaal (Bobbi), Ken Jeong, Anna Faris, Flula Borg.

Trivia: Co-produced by Bautista.
