I guess everyone who complained about Superman Returns (2006) can shut up now, because this is what the nerd rage led to – a reboot of the franchise in the shape of a 3D blockbuster that spends one hour building a reawakened interest in the genesis story of Superman and then ruins everything with a cold, heartless and repetitive battle between our hero and the equally strong villain that goes on for well over an hour.
Michael Shannon, Diane Lane and Kevin Costner are well cast… but this is no Batman Begins.
