JUSTICE IS BLIND. GUILT SEES EVERYTHING.

When a journalist (Nicholas Hoult) is selected for jury duty during a murder trial in Georgia, he slowly realizes that he may in fact be the one who accidentally caused the victim’s death.

Writer Jonathan Abrams came up with a terrific idea for a movie and his script holds up nicely throughout, as the journalist struggles with his conscience and options. What will it take for the D.A. (a very good Toni Collette) to figure out the truth? There’s also plenty of criticism here against a flawed legal system where cynicism and prejudice play a part.

Compelling but somewhat muted drama.
