Joey was the only character on Friends to get a spin-off… but it never matched the success of the original series. Better than its reputation, Joey always paled in comparison; reasonably amusing, but not funny enough.

The cast was considerably weaker in the chemistry department. Matt LeBlanc was still charismatic as the not-very-talented actor who left his friends in New York for a movie career in L.A., moving into an apartment with his nerdy nephew Michael (Paulo Costanzo). His sluttish sister Gina (Drea de Matteo), Michael’s mother, was a frequent guest.

Andrea Anders eventually became LeBlanc’s love interest on the show, but her character was much too bland to engage viewers.
