THIS TIME… IT’S PERSONAL.
After losing her youngest son to a shark, Ellen Brody (Lorraine Gary) goes to the Bahamas to get away from Amity, but the shark follows her.
I don’t know if the writer tripped and hit his head, but this has to take the prize as the dumbest sequel ever. Here we have a shark plotting to kill members of the Brody family, possibly as revenge for what happened in the first film – even though the original fish is dead.
You gotta love the absurd stupidity at play here, but not even Michael Caine is funny enough to save it.
1987-U.S. 89 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Joseph Sargent. Cast: Lorraine Gary (Ellen Brody), Lance Guest (Michael Brody), Mario Van Peebles (Jake), Karen Young, Michael Caine, Lynn Whitfield. Cameo: Melvin Van Peebles.
