Jaws 3-D

THE THIRD DIMENSION IS TERROR.

When a great white swims into Sea World in Florida, the oldest Brody son, Mike (Dennis Quaid), must confront his old fears.

All of a sudden the Brody boys are adults in this third part that looks more like a disaster movie than anything else; we even have people trapped in a collapsing tunnel, Towering Inferno-style.

The 3D effects look awful on TV and the filmmakers forgot to include any real thrills. The cast is better, including Louis Gossett, Jr. in a part reminiscent of the mayor in the first two films.

1983-U.S. 97 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Joe Alves. Screenplay: Richard Matheson, Carl Gottlieb. Cast: Dennis Quaid (Mike Brody), Bess Armstrong (Kay Morgan), Simon MacCorkindale (Philip FitzRoyce), Louis Gossett, Jr., John Putch, Lea Thompson.

Trivia: First planned as a spoof involving John Hughes and Joe Dante. Also titled Jaws III. Followed by Jaws the Revenge (1987).
