Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

In 1957, Indy (Harrison Ford) and his old buddy Mac (Ray Winstone) run into Soviet agents in Nevada where they are forced to locate a highly magnetic crate for them.

The fourth Indiana Jones movie was the most anticipated cinematic event of the year. Ford may be in his 60s, the script may be silly and confusing (even working in a CGI-intense climax that looks like it was borrowed from the first X-Files movie), and Steven Spielberg may have delivered a film that your dad will appreciate more than you will.

But Ford looks great (in spite of all the jokes about his age) and this adventure is often old-school in a good way.

2008-U.S. 122 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Steven Spielberg. Screenplay: David Koepp. Story: George Lucas, Jeff Nathanson. Music: John Williams. Cast: Harrison Ford (Henry “Indiana” Jones), Cate Blanchett (Irina Spalko), Karen Allen (Marion Ravenwood), Ray Winstone, John Hurt, Jim Broadbent, Shia LaBeouf.

Trivia: Sean Connery was approached about playing Indy’s father again, but declined. Followed by Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023).
