NATURE IS UNFORGIVING.
A novel, low-budget take on the slasher genre in the vein of slow cinema – it’s a minimalist approach, where we follow events mainly from the perspective of the killer, a Jason Voorhees-type being that rises from his grave, finds an old firefighter mask and goes on a killing spree in the woods.
An interesting approach, where Johnny’s walk in a lovely Ontario forest is interrupted by absurdly, comically violent murders.
The film’s pace does try one’s patience; on the whole it’s more interesting as an experiment than a full movie. A must for genre fans, though.
