Or, The Rehabilitation of John Galliano, produced by Condé Nast whose fashion magazines (including Vogue whose editor-in-chief Anna Wintour appears in the film) were an instrumental part in the rise of Galliano as a designer.
This documentary struggles with its integrity as Galliano talks to us about his life, career and personal issues, trying to make a case, together with stars and powerful decision-makers in the world of fashion, why he should be forgiven after making anti-Semitic remarks in 2010 and getting fired from the job that made him an icon, head designer of Givenchy.
As for Galliano’s honesty, you’ll have to make up your own mind, but there’s no denying the craftsmanship behind this portrait.
