EVIL HAS A DESTINY.
A deranged murderer (Tyler Mane) escapes from the insane asylum, grabs a big knife and an old William Shatner mask and heads for his hometown to find his baby sister.
John Carpenter’s classic 1978 chiller gets the Rob Zombie treatment, and that’s a surprisingly good thing. The remake may be utterly familiar, but has atmosphere to spare, plenty of good, grisly shocks and a killer who is genuinely frightening.
Delving into Michael Myers’s wicked childhood makes the movie a little protracted, but it’s a rewarding idea that emphasizes Michael’s ties to his family in effective ways.
