A portrait of Meir’s darkest hour as leader of her country, depicting Israel’s strategy to counter its enemies without risking American support, but also how she struggled with poor health and the burden of responsibility for young men dying on both fronts.

Helped by excellent makeup, Mirren transforms into Golda; Liev Schreiber also makes a convincing Kissinger. Uneven visual effects and storytelling, though.
