OPPOSITES REACT.

The director was inspired by his upbringing in New York City in the 1970s for this symbolic story of different elements sharing the same city, but suffering from a familiar kind of xenophobia. Here, it’s fire and water that can’t get along, but what happens when two youngsters fall in love?

There’s ”Romeo and Juliet” vibes in an adventure that shares many ingredients with previous Pixar films. It suffers in comparison… but at the same time, this is on a very ambitious level, with beautiful animation, creative ideas and excellent music (especially that song).
