SOMETIMES IT TAKES MORE THAN JUST GOOD LOOKS TO KILL.
Empty-headed high-school cheerleader Buffy Summers (Kristy Swanson) learns that it is part of her destiny to slay vampires.
Five years after this horror-comedy, writer Joss Whedon would create a superior TV adaptation that would run for seven seasons. He was reportedly very unhappy with what the studio made of his original story.
The basic premise is still entertaining enough (in spite of dull teen intrigues), somewhat boosted by the performances of Swanson as Buffy, and Paul Reubens and Rutger Hauer as a couple of campy bloodsuckers.
