WHO ARE WE TO CALL WHEN THE WORLD IS ON FIRE?
It’s a clash between generations as young filmmaker Greta Stocklassa meets veteran diplomat Hans Blix, now in his late 90s but still sharp.
Blix handled many crises throughout his long career, but will forever be known for his role as U.N. weapons inspector, charged with investigating whether or not Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein harbored weapons of mass destruction. Blix found no evidence and was ridiculed by Republicans as the Bush Administration rushed into war. Blix was right, but Stocklassa still tries to find out if there wasn’t something he could have done to stop the war.
The film offers nothing new, but it’s a likable portrait of the friendly Blix and he’s an engaging guide through the insanity leading up to the Iraq War.
