AXEL FOLEY IS BACK. BACK WHERE HE DOESN’T BELONG.
Upon learning that a friend (Ronny Cox) of his has been shot, Detroit cop Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) goes to Beverly Hills once again to find the culprits, who happen to be professional robbers.
One of the most amusing ingredients of the first film was the tension between Foley and the Beverly Hills police department. Now they are suddenly the best of friends, and that’s not a good thing. Neither is the lack of charm and memorable tunes.
Still, Murphy knows how to entertain his audience and director Tony Scott makes sure there’s a lot of action.
1987-U.S. 102 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Tony Scott. Songs: “I Want Your Sex” (performed by George Michael), “Shakedown” (Harold Faltermeyer, Keith Forsey, Bob Seger).
