A Very British Scandal

AVERAGE

In 1951, socialite Margaret Campbell (Claire Foy) marries the Duke of Argyll (Paul Bettany), the beginning of a tumultuous marriage that will end in a historically scandalous divorce 12 years later.

Another story ripped from the headlines, following the miniseries A Very English Scandal (2018), this time focusing on a sordid affair involving a woman known for her many liaisons with men, and a charming drug addict who gambled away money and treated each new wife cruelly. Still, when the couple went to court the legal system and the press turned on Margaret.

Darkly alluring, with fine lead performances.
