Young Elodie (Millie Bobby Brown) is offered as a bride for the prince in the kingdom of Aurea; it all looks like a match made in heaven until Elodie realizes that she’s walked into a fiery trap.

Not a fairytale? Well, it certainly has the trappings of one, this adventure that pits Brown against a dragon with an axe to grind. The action in the beast’s cave is exciting enough, but the film suffers from its hammy ingredients, including pretentious dialogue and a feminist message that feels obvious and half-baked at best.
