WHAT HAPPENED TO EMILY?

Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick), a single mom and recipes vlogger, finds a new friend in a woman (Blake Lively) who in every way is her opposite… but then she suddenly disappears.

The novel earned comparisons with ”Gone Girl”, but in director Paul Feig’s hands a lighter touch and a sense of humor were added, as well as a certain elegance, aided by French chansons on the soundtrack. Regardless of approach, the mystery is an entertaining but hardly believable yarn with a number of twists.

The two leads match each other nicely, one timid and the other totally unhinged; they make the dialogue wicked and fun.
