Three men (Ardalan Esmaili, Magnus Krepper, Jens Hultén) gather for a hunting weekend in the woods, failing to understand the kind of game that awaits them.
The director’s feature film debut is a thriller where man becomes prey, as in The Most Dangerous Game. The story has greater ambition though, taking on toxic masculinity and depicting a man (Esmaili) who goes through a complete transformation, affected by a wild surrounding that’s alien to him.
Not entirely convincing, but it’s a good cast and the cinematography makes dark poetry out of the game.
