Terminator: Dark Fate

WELCOME TO THE DAY AFTER JUDGMENT DAY.

The sixth film continues a franchise tradition: serving up impressive action just like its predecessors, but also disowning those movies at the same time.

This one continues two decades after Terminator 2 (the only sequel fans agree on as worthy). Skynet never happened, but another war did take place; a new deadly machine goes after a young woman (Natalia Reyes) in Mexico City, but faces resistance from a couple of familiar faces and a soldier (who’s part cyborg) from the future.

The script has a few fresh ideas and both older and younger generations are engaging to watch.

2019-U.S. 128 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Tim Miller. Screenplay: David S. Goyer, Justin Rhodes, Billy Ray. Cast: Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor), Arnold Schwarzenegger (T-800/Carl), Mackenzie Davis (Grace), Natalia Reyes (Daniella ”Dani” Ramos), Gabriel Luna, Diego Boneta.

Trivia: Co-produced by James Cameron, who also worked on the story. Edward Furlong contributed a minor motion-capture performance.
