NEW YORK. NEW RULES.
The Carpenter sisters (Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega) have left Woodsboro for New York City, but Ghostface makes another appearance.
The directors made a decent attempt to breathe new life into this franchise with Scream (2022), but the fifth chapter was still too familiar. Could changing locations help? Moving the action to New York is an excellent idea; having Ghostface attack his victims on streets, in alleys and the subway is refreshing.
The final revelation of the killer’s identity is about as dumb as in previous entries… but there are many thrills leading up to it and the cast is game.
