PARTY LIKE YOUR JOB DEPENDS ON IT.
When the Chicago office of a company fails to meet its quarterly quota, they’re headed for layoffs… unless a wild Christmas party changes things.
One of many films to follow in the footsteps of The Hangover (2009), this one reuniting the directors’ Switch (2010) stars, Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston, who are cast in roles that expertly take advantage of their talents. The same is true of many others here, including Kate McKinnon as an uptight HR lady.
Fitfully funny as the party gets out of hand, but far from memorable.
2016-U.S. 105 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Will Speck, Josh Gordon. Cast: Jason Bateman (Josh Parker), Olivia Munn (Tracey Hughes), T.J. Miller (Clay Vanstone), Jennifer Aniston, Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell… Da’Vine Joy Randolph.
