3 Men and a Little Lady

Mary is now five years old and the three bachelors have made a nice little family together with Sylvia (Nancy Travis)… but then she falls for an English director (Christopher Cazenove).

The sequel to 3 Men and a Baby (1987) settles into a nice little formula, just like the first movie. Fortunately for the three bachelors who want to keep Sylvia and Mary in their lives, the new guy turns out to be a bastard, leading to a third act in Britain where the nuptials must be stopped.

Sweet and amusing in spite of a silly story; Fiona Shaw is fun as a randy headmistress.

1990-U.S. 105 min. Color. Directed by Emile Ardolino. Cast: Tom Selleck (Peter Mitchell), Steve Guttenberg (Michael Kellam), Ted Danson (Jack Holden), Nancy Travis, Christopher Cazenove, Fiona Shaw.

Quote: “Not so splendid as your mighty erections I imagine.” (Shaw to Selleck, who’s an architect, watching a marquee being erected)
