In 1985, six years after the events in X (2022), Maxine Minx (Mia Goth) has made it to Hollywood as a porn star, and wants to become a serious actress… but a new killer enters her life.

Ti West’s fans won’t be disappointed by this satisfyingly sleazy, entertaining and bloody sequel that has him so devoted to period details that he seems to almost forget about a story; the revelation of the killer is an unsurprising reminder of X.

Still, the cast is very game, including Goth and Kevin Bacon as a low-life private eye, and West’s love for dark Hollywood, Psycho sets and all, is endearing.
